Reassessment Continues
July 23rd, 2008 3:25 PM
The County wide reassessment of all properties is moving forward with many property owners raising questions as to how their new assessment values could be so high. I have been contacted by several people requesting a "Market Analysis" of their properties so that they could challenge their assessment. Be advised that the review panel at a formal review will not hold any value in a market analysis, you must have a certified appraisal. Most appraisers that I talked to have said that they are overwhelmed and could not take on any new orders and have them completed in the time period that we are under. In some cases it may make sense to wait until next year to file an appeal so that there is a greater amount of data in the system that has already been adjusted to use as a  reference...This is going to be an ongoing process for some time to come.
